Excavations & Consolidation Work

As always, volunteers are invited to participate in work at the broch.
No experience is required and we will provide all tools and training.

Broch Pottery Firing
Monday 2 July, from 3pm and Tuesday 3 July 6pm, Stoer Green

We will be building a kiln and firing broch-style pottery made during recent workshops on Monday, and then opening the kiln to see the results on Tuesday.

Experimental Archaeology: Recreating a Broch Floor
Clachtoll Broch, on and off throughout the excavations 
One of our ambitions for this phase of work is to explore the possible construction of the
flooring for the upper storey in the broch. All ideas and assistance welcome!

Broch Food & Drink
Friday 13 July, from 2pm,  Stoer Green
Join us at 2pm to try your hand at grinding grain on replica Iron Age querns, prepare a roasting pit
and generally get a taste of life at Clachtoll Broch 2000 years ago!

From 6pm a sample a selection of Iron Age foodstuffs should be ready for tasting. All welcome.

Prehistoric Leatherworking Demonstration – POSTPONED
We had planned a leatherworking demonstration/workshop for 12 July but this has been postponed;
